Yesterday, Air Busan flight BX-391 filed from Busan (South Korea) to Hong Kong (China) caught fire immediately after pushback from the terminal gate. The Airbus A321-200 contained 169 passengers and 6 crew members, all of which evacuated. The Aviation Herald reports on 4 minor injuries following the incident. According to the Aviation Herald, a fire broke out at the back of the cabin after the plane was pushed back, prior to takeoff.
The fire was put out roughly 75 minutes after the initial startle, yet the fire had plenty of time to burn, causing the aircraft to be rendered useless after it was destroyed by the flame.
The exact cause of the fire is being investigated.
